A GLOBAL DATA-SHARING INITIATIVE BETWEEN SINGAPORE AND LONDON
Singapore-based Newton Circus and its DEX subsidiary, and the Digital Catapult, a national centre to rapidly advance the UK’s best digital ideas, has formed a partnership to drive forward Data City | Data Nation.
Singapore is building the world’s first Smart Nation, and London is a leader in data-driven innovation. Both cities are cultivating vibrant technology eco-systems, with international entrepreneurs and corporates being encouraged to use the cities as ‘living labs’ to test new ideas.
Data City | Data Nation will build and provide managed access to billions of data points provided by public, private and people sectors, a week of data synchronised by time, location and device.
A first of its kind ‘Data Sandbox’ will open to the global data, development and innovation community from March 10 2016.
At the end of February, the Data Sandbox will be open for registration by the global data, development and innovation community.
This Sandbox will make it easy to search across diverse public, private and people datasets, so you can discover new datasets you may not know existed and explore the connections between them.

There will be a series of data and innovation events and challenges,
set to a specific theme each month:
Here’s a look at the launch of Data City | Data Nation hosted by British High Commissioner, Mr Scott
Wightman, at the end of last year. It brought together key decision-makers from over 90 organisations,
from multinationals to start-ups, research institutes and government agencies.
